Senior UX Researcher / Designer

The Role

You will have responsibility for analysing client requirements and the behaviour of their users in order to provide the design team the insights and strategic direction to produce effective digital solutions. The main focus is conducting client workshops, customer research and analysing the results, to make business recommendations and inform the wider internal teams.

You need an excellent understanding of UX methodologies and practices, as well as an appreciation for digital design and the delivery process. The successful candidate will be confident managing client relationships, taking the lead on UX research projects, and helping drive an appreciation for data driven design both internally and with our clients.

You'll apply your passion for user research to work with users and client teams, understanding their requirements to help inform the solutions developed by the design team.

 

 

Responsibilities

  • Propose and take ownership of UX methodologies and provide research insight across a wide range of projects
  • Lead workshops, presentations and walkthrough sessions with clients and internally to help define project/user requirements
  • Define, conduct and analyse various types of user research including and not limited to: interviews, data analysis, surveys, tree testing, moderating focus groups, usability testing and card sorting, A/B & multivariant tests
  • Communicate research conclusions and recommendations to the design team and wider business stakeholders in a clear and concise manor
  • Lead on producing: information architecture, content strategy, navigation schema and site mapping
  • Be the internal research advocate to gain appreciation of research principles and considerations, undertaking team training / knowledge sharing activities
  • Identify opportunities to further cross sell UX and research across the business

 

 

Person Specification

Key Qualifications and Attributes:

  • Experience advising appropriate lean user research methods and tools to provide the most value
  • Experience of researching and validating user needs through qualitative and quantitative methods
  • Experience of testing and applying appropriate methods throughout cycles of research, development,
  • Sound understanding of the social and technological context helping communicate how digital technology is impacting user behaviour
  • Strong digital knowledge and able to collaborate with the design and wider teams
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Strong digital design understanding to communicate ideas and showcase usability improvements through sketching or wireframes to solve complex user problems.
  • Able to work in a fast paced, dynamic environment and use high levels of initiative to deliver results.
  • Full, valid driving licence.

 

Ideal but not essential:

  • Strong understanding of interaction design using wireframing tools such as: Axure, Adobe XD or similar
