As part of the IDHL Group, which has other offices based in Harrogate, Leeds, Manchester and London, NetConstruct are one of the largest web development agencies in Yorkshire.

Based in the market town of Wetherby, NetContruct’s colourful office is an open plan, fun, and collaborative environment in which individuals and teams are encouraged to develop and progress within the business. 


The Role

We are looking for an energetic and enthusiastic Creative Leader and UX specialist with the ambition and appetite to grow and develop a team within a fast-paced growing company.  This is a lead role within a close-knit multimedia team, there is huge potential to further develop skills and expertise for the right candidate.

You will lead a creative team made up of UX, research, visual design and interactive design, to provide all things creative to NetConstruct, with potential for a wider group role.

You will be focused on overseeing and driving the delivery of exciting web projects including design, UX, wire-framing and user journey management as well as leading on pitches and formulating creative strategies.



  • Overseeing the creative philosophy and overall standard of creative output across the agency
  • Developing a creative environment for designers to work in
  • Driving all creative output within the agency and heading up the creative direction of the team
  • Grow digital capabilities on the team through recruitment, strategic partnerships and by upskilling our team
  • Building and nurturing relationships with new and existing clients
  • Developing and pitching concepts and ideas to clients and new prospects
  • Defining a clear process for delivering strategic creative projects
  • Overseeing all creative outputs from start to finish, keeping to deadlines, and signing off before they are presented
  • Liaising with the project management to keep them informed and to highlight any issues
  • Leading on research into creative innovation within our industry and current trends and disseminating these through the team and the agency.
  • Leading on processes within the creative team and facilitating positive change to improve ways of working
  • Team development and mentoring
  • Representing the creative services team as part of the senior management meetings


Person Specification

Key Qualifications and Attributes:

  • Solid experience at a senior level in an agency setting
  • Experience in multiple digital design projects, managing a team’s output whilst also being able to be hands-on
  • A strong leader with the ability to inspire our team and clients and quickly earn respect and trust
  • Driven, persistent and ready to bring changes to our process which help facilitate new ways of working
  • A strong understanding of the commercial aspects of the agency and work as part of the management team to meet the overarching business objectives.
  • Experience mentoring and coaching teams of designers
  • An in depth understanding of the digital and creative market and the ability to adapt to a fast moving and constantly changing market place
  • Ability to contribute to agency strategy by sharing knowledge, best practice and market intelligence with the wider management team
  • A solid understanding of industry standard software (e.g. Creative cloud, Sketch, InVision, Axure)  
  • Have approximately 5+ years design experience (including UX and wire-framing) in an agency (or similar) environment. Candidates will be asked to demonstrate their portfolio.
  • Ability to provide support to colleagues, building strong working relationships with other teams within the business.
  • An understanding of HTML, CSS, JavaScript and other technologies
  • Full, clean driving licence
